Overview

WTS International, one of the world's leading spa, fitness and leisure management firms, is seeking a Wellness Manager in Sunny Isles Beach, FL. The Wellness Manager will oversee the fitness center, treatment room spa, retail, and salon, and will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility to include: attending weekly property and spa meetings, oversee spa line ups, liaison with the property General Manager, establish and meet the budget and financial goals of the spa, maintain Forbes Five-Star standards of the spa, implement a strategic plan to include strong programming in lifestyle, fitness and spa, create marketing initiative, schedule staff trainings in customer service and revenue, act as the liaison to other departments on property, and professionally represent WTS at the property. Uses the ability to lead and motivate staff to achieve goals and exceed guest expectations. The Wellness Manager will also be expected to take appointments as a therapist licensed in the state of Florida. Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the "WTS and Spa Experience" for residents by maintaining the standards set in WTS' Basics to Excellence (BTE), WTS' Mission Statement/Values; Spa Standards and Expectations, WTS and Spa Brand Standards
  • Adheres to policies of the facility and WTS International.
  • Assists in developing a comprehensive standard facility operations manual, including written policies and procedures for all facility services, administration, and maintenance using the spa operations template.
  • Maintain the Forbes Five-Star standards of the spa.
  • Responsible for the physical asset of the property by liaising with the property's Director of Engineering.
  • Uses a template to develop a monthly and yearly management report outlining key facility statistics and a summary of daily operations. Also reports any current or future concerns and forwards recommended changes to the client with Account Executive's approval.
  • Assists in completing and submitting the spa portion of all paperwork and financial reporting in accordance with WTS and property policy including but not limited to monthly Variance Reports, Executive Summaries, Client Reports, Retail Reports, and Daily KPIs.
  • Ensures that spa payroll is correct and submitted on time as instructed by the WTS Payroll Manager and according to the payroll calendar.
  • Attends all General Manager meetings and represents the spa in internal and external initiatives.
  • Liaisons with the Resort General Manager.
  • ● Ensures that all open positions are filled and terminated by submitting the correct forms in a timely manner.
  • Performs all treatments on services' menu based on current certifications.
  • Suggests to guests other beneficial treatments offered in the spa.
  • Understands the ingredients in products and can explain their benefits to the guests, and answers guest's questions in a knowledgeable and professional manner
  • Begins and ends all treatments on time.
  • Manages laundry.
  • Ensures that work areas are clean and set according to procedures.
  • Orders product needed according to budget.
  • Creates and maintains client cards with treatment notes, when appropriate.
  • Completes all assigned side work.
  • Attends all scheduled meetings.
  • Attends scheduled professional trainings and is trained on all protocols.
  • Completes other duties assigned by the Corporate Operations Director.
  • Cleans and disinfects all equipment on a daily basis.
  • Assists staff with lifting and storing facility equipment, furniture, and products to help maintain facility and prepare for special events.
  • Develops and maintains accurate facility maintenance procedures and checklists through routine preventative maintenance and repair.
  • Maintains a monthly inventory of supplies, equipment, and products.
  • Writes articles or press releases for the facility when applicable.
  • Creates a team of service providers to meet all aspects of professionalism and service demands.
  • Maintains a fully staffed facility by recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training all staff.
  • Ensures the staff is fully knowledgeable on the use and benefits of services, products, programs, and activities by conducting regularly scheduled staff meetings and training workshops.
  • Ensures appropriate facility supervisory coverage through use of a Manager on Duty (MOD) system.
  • Assesses all employees' progress continually, trains employees, coaches employees with positive reinforcement and disciplines fairly and consistently, participates in annual performance evaluations, and assists in the termination process when necessary.
  • Provides excellent customer service and monitors guest feedback through the use of comment cards and other customer care techniques.
  • Supervises and follows up on guest requests and comments.
  • Creates and implements an effective marketing and public relations strategy in a timely manner.
  • Ensures facility is only accessed by actual members and/or residents, and that it is safe and secure at all times.
  • Ensures fiscal responsibility through efficient scheduling of facility and makes necessary changes to stay within budgetary guidelines.
  • Ensures the successful integration of the spa and the fitness facility into the overall operations of the property.
  • Ensures that the spa is successfully positioned within the respective marketplace by completing a competitive analysis and determining strengths and weaknesses of all significant competitors.
  • Maintains a large roster of On Request Therapists.
  • Ensures that financial goals are attained by developing and implementing a retail sales plan.
  • Establishes service and retail goals for staff and provides guidance on how to achieve them.
  • Develops a schedule of seasonal utilization patterns to be used in the budgeting process and effective payroll management.
  • Specifies and controls efficient usage of professional products for all services by completing a service cost analysis and implementing an inventory control system.
  • Provides necessary financial information to corporate and the client's accounting department for accurate reporting of daily sales and financial performance.
  • Ensures an effective inventory system with the par stock levels implemented for spa equipment and supplies.
  • Ensures compliance with all state licensing, CPR, and health requirements.
  • Provides reservation procedures using spa software or a manual reservation system.
  • Prepares any incident or accident reports and forwards them to Corporate Operations Director WTS Human Resources.
  • Adheres to policies of the property.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of successful spa management experience.
  • Bilingual: English and Spanish highly preferred
  • Event management is a plus.
  • Must possess a current Florida license as an LMT, and preferably also have a group exercise, personal training, Esthetics, Cosmetology, and/or Nail Technician license and relevant certifications.
  • Knowledge of retail operations and inventory systems.
  • Effective leadership skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Customer service experience, preferably in a spa.
  • Ability to explain various treatments/services to guests.
  • Excellent customer service skills and work ethic.
  • Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and motivational.
  • Professional manner, discretion, and appearance.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Must have a current CPR certification, and ensure that all others on team do, as well.
  • Must be comfortable with product recommendation.
  • Previous massage experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously.

  • CPR/First Aid Certified.
