POSITION: Assistant USA Swim Coach

We are looking for an Assistant Swim Coach to coach our CAC Stingrays! Help our swimmers get to the next level 20-30 hours/week. Compensation is anywhere from $12-$20 per hour with the option for additional compensation teaching swim lessons.

What our Swim Coaches are all about:
Our Swim Coaches are experienced professionals with a passion for helping children ages 6-18 meet their competitive swimming goals. They enjoy analyzing performance, providing instruction on swimming techniques and working with our aquatics department to prepare for competitive events.

Some responsibilities include:
  • At a minimum, be on deck to help coach dryland exercises or swimming for any age group (6 – 18 y.o.) every Monday through Friday 3:30pm – 8:30pm;
  • Provide routine pool maintenance tasks throughout the week before or after coaching (brushing walls, cleaning gutters, testing chemicals, cleaning decks, fixing tiles, etc);
  • Provide administrative support to the team and coach throughout the week on your own schedule outside of coaching .(with deadlines) such as responding to emails, calendaring dates, handling parent questions, managing roster, etc.;
  • Option to teach swim lessons during the week during the daytime (able to coordinate your own schedule outside of coaching).
What you’re all about:
  • A joy and enthusiasm for working with children and helping them improve their competitive performance.
  • You are a former USS / USA Swimming athlete
  • 3 years of previous coaching experience and/or aquatics experience and coaching membership that is in good standing with USA Swimming.
  • An ASCA Level II certification (or higher) is highly desirable but not required.
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); Bachelor’s degree ideal.
  • Exceptional communication and motivation skills with children with the ability to consider varied social, emotional and physical attributes.
