Overview

The Pool Manager is responsible for overseeing the complete staffing and operations for the pools and complimentary facilities, Maintain proper pool chemical and sanitation levels required in by NYC Dept of Health, and Comply with the approved NYC Bathing Establishment Safety Plan.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the "WTS International Experience" for guests by maintaining the standards set in WTS' Basics to Excellence (BTE), WTS International Mission Statement/Values; Standards and Expectations, and WTS International Brand Standards.
• Adheres to policies of WTS International and Extell.
• Becomes knowledgeable about the facility and its amenities in order to effectively communicate with residents.
• Submits all paperwork and financial reporting, when applicable, in accordance with WTS International policy. Follows all SOPs and procedures that apply
• Responsible for the complete operation and maintenance of two (2) indoor pool facilities located at the 70 Charlton and EVGB residential buildings
• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise all Lifeguard staff
• Develop monthly staffing schedules for the above approved times and be directly responsible for their performance, attendance, and compliance with our active Safety Plan and other duties established at each facility
• Actively perform lifeguard a minimum of 40 hours per week
• Be the named CPO for both pools and will perform the required duties daily/weekly/monthly required by the Pool Safety Plan
• Process payroll bi-weekly
• Develop in conjunction with Lifestyle Director pool cleaning duties and daily checklist
• Ensure (with the Lifestyle Director) that lifeguards are punctual in reporting to duty and will monitor attendance, having procedures in place for when we have "no-shows", late attendance, or any other attendance issues, and document and follow-up according to WTS policy.
• Stay in good communication with lifeguards/team members, Lifestyle Director, Client, and WTS corporate.
• Ensure Pool Permits, lifeguard certifications, CPR requirements, and all operational documents related to operating a pool in NYC and compliant with our pool Safety Plan, and kept current and updated.
• Teach classes and provide pool programming and swim lessons consistent with programming coordinated with the Lifestyle Director
• Responsible for aspects of compliance and updating of pool Safety Plan.
• Be present for all pool inspections conducted by WTS, Client, or NYC DOH.
• Be responsible for ordering and maintaining all chemicals and supplies for the pools. Accurate records and receipts necessary for any items are to be kept and submitted in a timely fashion according to WTS accounting standards.
• Responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer service and WTS' Basics to Excellence program is implemented and fully supported by the team.
• Other duties that may be assigned

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Previous experience programming events and classes is preferred.
• Creativity, especially in the area of marketing and promotion.
• Excellent oral communication skills. Must be able to write legibly and clearly to convey information.
• Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously
• Energetic, enthusiastic and motivational.
• Professional manner, discretion, and appearance.
• Strong team player.
• Must be able to keep calm and composed while under pressure.
• Must be able to show initiative and make decisions.
• Proficient in appropriate computer skills and office equipment
• Degree in Recreation and/or Fitness preferred
• Certified: Lifeguard, CPO, CPR
• Recreational Management/Marketing and Sales background preferred
• Experience programming events
• Excellent customer service skills
• Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously
• Professional manner, discretion, and appearance
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Energetic, enthusiastic and motivational
• Effective leadership skills and a strong work ethic
• Ability to stand for long periods
• This position required the ability to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, walk, and talk
• The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
• Ability to lift 25 lbs.
• Normal work hours: Varied to include nights, weekends, and holidays
