We are searching for a dynamic and innovative Fitness/Personal Trainer to manage and operate our Fitness

Center and training programs at Diablo Country Club.


For more than 100 years Diablo Country Club has been a sanctuary, a community of like-minded members who share an ideal. It's a club built around families and gathering with friends. There's a myriad of ways our members get together every day, be it on the golf course, tennis courts, poolside, or at one of our many events. Diablo was established as a place for recreation and relaxation, a park club that was far from the city clubs and more exceptional than simply a country club.

As fitness and health become more ingrained in everybody's life, we're creating one facility for the whole family to enjoy. Group exercise classes, personal trainers, state-of-the-art equipment, healthy, delicious meals served poolside, and more! With customized training sessions and nutrition programs, all our golfers, tennis players, and swimmers will be at the top of their game.


The successful candidate will work directly with the Assistant General Manager to develop and execute year-round fitness and wellness programs for members and their family with a focus on quality and exceptional service. The Head Fitness/Personal Trainer will assess the physical and health conditions of members, create appropriate exercise plans, and monitor their improvement while explaining applicable safety rules and regulations (e.g. use of equipment). Ultimately, helping our members have fun and improve their health through exercise. The Head Fitness/Personal is a leader and mentor for the other trainers and is ultimately responsible for the management of the Fitness Center.


•Promote the fitness department and programming to the membership and prospective members.

Evaluate member fitness levels, health conditions, and exercise needs.

•Build individualized exercise programs including sport specific programming such as TPI-Golf.

•Explain exercises in detail and suggest alternatives if needed.

•Monitor progress of member fitness levels.

•Modify exercise plans based on needs, potential injuries or health issues.

•Conduct individual and group fitness training sessions.

•Explain safe and proper use of gym equipment.

•Research on new exercise equipment, techniques and trends.

•Handle nutrition and health-related questions.

•Perform CPR and administer first aid in case of emergencies.

•Build a positive and trusting relationship with members.

•Responsible for the daily inspection of fitness center and equipment.

•Schedules the other personal trainers to ensure staff availability is maximized for personal training

and monitoring of the Fitness Center.

•Prepares and promotes an annual fitness, wellness, and life-style program calendar for member


•Completes special projects, reports and duties assigned by the Assistant General Manager.

•Attend and participate in all general and team meetings.

•Maintain a neat and professional working area.

•Assist with Fitness Center organization and cleanliness.

Job Requirements

•Previous experience as a personal trainer/fitness trainer or relevant role.

•Knowledge of various fitness programs, from basic exercises to more challenging training sessions.

•Knowledge of diverse exercises and how to adjust plans according to each client's needs.

•Ability to guide and motivate clients.

•Available to work flexible hours.

•Excellent communication skills.

•Certificates in CPR and first aid.

•High School diploma with advanced education in fitness and wellness. Available to work on early or

late shifts and on weekends.

•Red Cross certified in CPR and First Aid.

•Self-starter that works well in a team environment.


•Required to work irregular and extended hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.

•Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, walk, bend and stoop.

•Remain standing and walking for several hours during a work shift.
