Instruct and/or coach groups in exercise activities. Demonstrate techniques and form, observe participants, and explain to them corrective measures necessary to improve their skills.



  • Offer modifications during classes to accommodate different levels of fitness.

  • Plan routines, choose appropriate music, and choose different movements for each set of muscles, depending on participants' capabilities and limitations.

  • Evaluate individuals' abilities, needs, and physical conditions, and develop suitable training programs to meet any special requirements.

  • Observe participants and inform them of corrective measures necessary for skill improvement.

  • Monitor participants' progress and adapt programs as needed.

  • Teach proper breathing techniques used during physical exertion.

  • Instruct participants in maintaining exertion levels to maximize benefits from exercise routines.

  • Teach and demonstrate the use of training equipment such as weights, TRX suspension, bands, stability balls, Bous, etc.

  • Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations governing sports, recreational activities, and the use of exercise equipment.

  • Administer emergency first aid or refer injured persons to the appropriate person for help.

  • Maintain fitness equipment.

  • Advise clients about proper clothing and shoes.

  • Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.

  • Remains competent and current by reading professional journals and literature, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses as appropriate.

  • Contributes to the overall success of the Company by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned, maintaining a professional demeanor and appropriate levels of confidentiality, and providing excellent customer service.

Work Environment

This position operates in an environment with intermittent exposure to outdoor weather with temperatures reaching well above 100 degrees Fahrenheit and below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Spend time using your hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Office equipment used in this position includes a desktop computer, laptop computer, fax machine, printer, photocopier, multi-line telephone, filing cabinets, and cell phone. Administrative functions may require up to 20% of the time using a computer or other office equipment.


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have a full-body range of physical motion. The employee must be able to:

  • Stand for sustained periods of time;

  • Walkabout on foot to accomplish tasks;

  • Bend legs at the knee and come to a rest on knee or knees;

  • Bend the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine;

  • Extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction;

  • Engage in repetitive movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers;

  • Apply pressure to an object with the fingers and palm;

  • Lift a minimum of 10 pounds of weight, up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis, and occasionally aide or assist participants.

While performing the duties of this job, the communication and listening processes are essential. The employee must be able to:

  • Talk to express or exchange ideas using the spoken word;

  • Perceive the nature of oral communications at normal speaking levels, with or without correction;

  • Receive detailed information through oral communication; and

  • Distinguish between sounds.


  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Current CPR/AED.

  • Fitness certification (ACE, ACSM, or equivalent).


  • Monday / Wednesday / Friday

  • 8:00 am - 10:00 am
