Job Description

Purpose:

Coach groups or individuals in Flexibility technique and safe training practices. Demonstrate techniques and form, observe participants, and explain to them corrective measures necessary to improve their skills.

Education:

Must have at least 2 years of applicable experience or undergone comprehensive training or certification program.

Knowledge:

Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Education and Training - Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.

Psychology - Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; and learning and motivation styles.

First Aide - Must maintain a current CPR/AED Certification

Job Responsibilities:

  • Attendance – Being here 10 minutes before your first scheduled class until 10 minutes after your last scheduled class.
  • Teaching – Teach a well-prepared and well-executed class.
  • Cleaning – Clean up after yourself and your students, help maintain the general cleanliness of the studio during your shift.
  • Administrative – Make sure new students fill out the proper paperwork and check your attended students into class/their appointment.

Skills Required:

Technical

  • Safety Management - Explain and enforce safety rules.
  • Class Planning and Development - Create level/type appropriate class plans, choose appropriate music, and modify/adapt depending on participants' capabilities and limitations.
  • Training and Teaching Others - Implementing class plans effectively to maximize student learning and progression.
  • Modifications - Offer alternatives during classes to accommodate different levels of fitness.
  • Progression - Observe participants and inform them of corrective measures necessary for skill improvement. As well as monitor participants' progress and adapt programs as needed.
  • Student Evaluation - Evaluate individuals' abilities, needs, and physical conditions, and develop suitable training programs to meet any special requirements.
  • Learning Strategies - Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
  • Equipment Maintenance - Performing routine inspection on equipment and advise management on maintenance required.
  • Developing Curriculum Objectives and Strategies - When requested, participate in helping to develop and maintain curriculums.
  • Risk Management - Assess risks and participate in injury prevention. Assist in caring for others in the event of injury or emergency.

Communication

  • Active Learning – Assessing your skills and weaknesses, continuing to develop both technical skills and teaching skills, and participating in active personal development.
  • Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates - Communicate with your co-works and management in a timely, respectful, and constructive manner.
  • Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to analyze areas for potential improvement, identify alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems, and communicate solutions to management.

  • Social Perceptiveness- Being aware of others' behavior and understanding why they react as they do.

Other

  • Making Decisions and Solving Problems - Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Be proactive in making decisions in the absence of management in line with Sky High Studios, Inc.'s policies and values.
  • Judgment and Decision Making- Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Selling - Understanding Sky High Studios, Inc. pricing and be able to answer questions and sell programming.

  • Cleanliness - Clean up after yourself and your classes including, but not limited to, replenishing supplies, sweeping, vacuuming, wiping mirrors, and any other cleaning tasks that management requires.
  • Attendance - Keep accurate records of class attendance and check in students or yourself for classes and/or appointments.
