Job Description
OVERVIEW
The position is located in the Wilfred R. Cameron Wellness Center in Washington, PA. This person is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Maintenance, Facility, and Housekeeping. Responsible for staffing and managing the each of these areas while providing support for customer service and member experience, and expense management. Collaborates with team members from all WRCWC areas and participates in the operational administration and delivery of wellness pursuits.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
- Provide a leadership role in working with the team to develop operational plans for each department, integrating into organizational goals.
- Play a significant role in the long-term planning, including initiatives geared toward operational excellence.
- Develop and implement department operating procedures, with quality measures and controls, always striving to improve organizational processes and policies to support our mission.
- Oversee operations of facility maintenance, housekeeping, and pool operations.
- Evaluate physical plant needs including all equipment and operating systems.
- Operate facility, maintenance, and pool operations per center standards and budgetary guidelines.
- Determine feasibility and costs of projects as requested by Executive Director.
- Interview, negotiate, and qualify all contractors or vendors.
- Supervise and inspect the work of contracted skilled tradespersons.
- Accompany various building inspectors throughout the Center.
- Direct the performance of preventive maintenance of all equipment.
- Manage all facility and equipment improvements, needs and trouble shoot operating systems.
- Act in CPO capacity, overseeing pool and whirlpool testing, repairs, and maintenance.
- Maintain tool inventory. Ensures safe use and storage of tools, cleansers, and chemicals.
- Provide leadership, support, and motivation to team members, working with department supervisor to develop and maintain a culture of service excellence.
- Hold weekly/monthly department meetings with minutes and clear action points. Is a visible resource to all team members.
- Perform daily department areas walk through with relevant action points.
- Serves as MOD.
- Consistently maintain expense control measures for the department, with careful attention to scheduling, payroll, and inventory and supplies.
- Oversee and/or submit bi-monthly payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports, as assigned.
- Enforce departmental policies through effective Center communications system.
- Has a consistent weekday morning and evening presence at Center.
- Participate in Center and community events as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor level degree in business management or a related field.
- Maintenance or handyman experience necessary.
- Prior management experience preferred.
- Current or obtains in first 60 days-CPR, AED and First Aid training.
- Strong problem solving and customer service oriented background.
- Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), E-mail, Internet
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Requires long periods of standing or sitting.
- Moderate use of computer terminal screen, right or left-hand use, typing.
- Grasping and gripping movements
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. Some lifting may require additional assistance from another staff person. Employee is expected to use discretionary judgment and ask for assistance from another employee if an item is perceived to be too heavy to lift without assistance.
- Use of personal safety equipment required.
- Frequent use of chemicals, including cleaning, pool, and laundry supplies.
- Continuous exposure to moderate to loud noise.
- Occasional exposure to bodily fluids.
- Occasional lifting, pulling, climbing, kneeling, and bending.
- Must be able to demonstrate verbally or physically.
