Job Description

Job Summary: Manage, direct, supervise all aspects of the Wellness and Recreation initiatives. The operation of the recreation department, including swimming pools, fitness center, playground, adult/family/youth activities, special events, holiday activities, and group activities. Duties include programming, reservations, staff training and supervision, facility maintenance, and instruction. Candidate must possess a positive attitude, demonstrating tolerance and inclusivity.

Benefits Available

Full time team members are eligible for benefits after 30 days of employment. Job Requirements
Job Responsibilities
• Planning and programming for all wellness and recreation programming for the property.
• Oversee Fitness, Group Instructors, Personal Trainers, Lifeguards, Pool Attendants, Tennis programming and Pickleball programming.
• Work with department leaders to successfully execute all Wellness and Recreation operations.
• Ensure proper training for lifeguards and all other persons working in the recreation and wellness areas.
• Work with Facilities team to ensure all areas are safe for member and guest use.
• Ensure all staff are adhering to safety and training procedures.
• Work cohesively with other Directors and Managers for Watersound Club to ensure members have a variety of offerings within the Wellness and Recreation department
• Work with team to offer special events and classes to encourage participation.
Education & Experience
• Strong guest service background.
• Ability to provide a high level of service, programming and instruction for our guests and members.
• Previous recreation programming experience or customer service experience.
• Computer literate in MS Office applications.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Capable of multi-tasking.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Degree in recreation, hospitality, sport management, or similar.
• Previous experience as a recreation supervisor or manager.
• Previous hospitality experience.
• Knowledge of recreation programming and facility management.
• At least 3 years of prior recreation experience.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certified.
• Personal Training or other fitness certification is preferred

• Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant friendly way, demonstrating tolerance in inclusivity.
• Ability to read, write and speak and communicate in basic English is necessary.
• Detail oriented and thorough
• Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests.
• Ability to perform consistent work to the highest standards.
Working Conditions
• Occasional working indoors for some programming and administrative work.
• Regular working outdoors for group classes taking place outdoors, assisting with recreational programming, training lifeguard and pool staff.
