YMCA Anthony Bowen
$50,000 - $60,000 a year plus monthly performance incentive opportunity

The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is looking for an experienced membership professional to lead the YMCA Anthony Bowen membership department. This dynamic individual will support the continued growth of this historic YMCA branch, which re-opened in 2013, by welcoming new members to join the inclusive, respectful, caring and impactful YMCA membership family.

The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington has been leading the way in youth development, healthy living and social responsibility for over 165 years through programs and services that meet the needs of communities across the metropolitan area. The Membership Directors at the YMCA play a key role in support of this work by leading the membership team in:
•Providing outstanding customer service to all members, guests, staff & the community;
•Identifying and building relationships with prospective members in the local community;
•Welcoming individuals, families and groups to become new YMCA members;
•Engaging new members in their opportunity to support the YMCA’s impactful programs and services, as a donor or volunteer, to strengthen the local community;
•Supporting the daily operation of the Member Service team and key branch initiatives.
Job Requirements
A minimum of five years of relevant membership sales and service experience is required. The ideal candidate will have a history of achieving monthly membership goals through implementing effective internal and external marketing plans. The Membership Director will have the privilege of developing the skills of membership department team members, positioning each one for their next advancement opportunity within the YMCA movement. As such, leadership experience, with sound decision-making ability and an enthusiastic approach to work are required. Skills required include communication, relationship-building, customer service, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills. A Bachelor’s degree is required.
