Job Description
  • Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions
  • Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
  • Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
  • Coordinating activities of external auditors
  • Managing the budget process
  • Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
  • Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
  • Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
  • Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
  • Prepare financial documents such as business reports, financial forecasts and statements to understand the financial state of business
  • Monitor the company's financial reports and determine ways to reduce costs
  • Keep up-to-date on the financial market to understand how to maximize profits and find new expansion areas
  • Understand the financials of the company in order to meet legal requirements
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
  • Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years experience in a Controller position
  • Valid CPA Status
  • Public accounting background preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting (Masters preferred)
  • Extensive experience working with general ledger, ERP, and other systems
  • Hands-on leader who is willing to get into “the details”
  • Revenue recognition and other technical accounting experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Dynamics
  • Strong knowledge of Great Plains
  • Proficient in BI-360
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with managing the monthly close process
  • Experience with implementing controls
  • Comfort in handling/managing a first time audit
