Overview

WTS International, one of the world's leading spa and fitness consulting and management firms, is seeking a Benefits Manager for our Corporate Headquarters Office in Rockville, MD. The HR Benefits Manager manage all aspects of company benefits plans, communications, compliance, and administration. Interacts with external brokers and vendors, internally with finance and legal to ensure cost-efficiencies and compliance. Communicates effectively with employees for education and problem resolution.

Responsibilities

Benefits Plan Management:
  • Manage all benefits benefit program policies and procedures for medical, dental, vision and life insurance plans, temporary disability programs, and wellness programs

o Monitor claims for self-funded medical and dental plans
  • 401k eligibility, enrollment, periodic testing and year end testing
  • Facilitates Worker's Compensation claims and resolution
  • Conduct or review analysis of plan activity and make recommendations
  • Manage vendor relationships and work with brokers to analyze plans, prepare for renewals, and negotiate plans constructs and costs to ensure our offering competitive and cost-effective


Communications:
  • Direct and manage communication strategies
  • Develop and oversee review of benefits information, including SPD's, enrollment books, etc., to ensure accuracy, availability, and compliance
  • Create and deliver multi-media communication tactics to education employees on available benefits
  • Promote participation in 401k
  • Ensure compliant and comprehensive oral and written communications to employees on leaves of absence


Administration:
  • Process information for employee enrollment, terminations, and status changes
  • Audit benefits deductions and reconcile invoices for all plans
  • Complete reports and paperwork to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements (e.g., ERISA 5500 filing, ACA,)
  • Provide guidance to all employees by answering questions, providing direction, or working with carriers to resolve problems
  • Administers all requests for leave of absence, ensuring compliance with state, federal and local law
  • Responds to request for accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act, working with local management to consider and make accommodations


Qualifications

Following is a list of pre-requisites needed to ensure successful job performance:
  • Undergraduate degree in related field
  • SHRM certification is a plus
  • Minimum 5 years benefits plan administration, including 401k administration
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
  • Energetic, self-motivated, independent worker, with sense of urgency
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills to handle critical situations with good judgment
  • Strong planning, organization, and executional skills with detail-orientation and deadline-driven
  • Strong customer services skills with timely follow up, follow through and professional courtesy
