Assistant General Manager

HOURS: Full Time
General Summary: Assists the General Manager in the day to day oversight of club operations and achievment of business objectives.
Some primary responsibilites include:
- Ensure delivery of superior customer service, achievement of high employee and member satisfaction and performance relative to club objectives.
- Ensure the club meets all applicable safety protocols.
- Institute mechanisms to routinely inspect the physical plant, equipment, surrounding property areas and operating club to ensure proper preventative and routine maintenance mechanisms and systems are in place to protect the membership and employees of the club.
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to all direct reports.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelors degree in business or fitness related field from a four-year college or university preferred. Minimum of one year of supervisory or management experience in the fitness, spa, hotel or hospitality industry. Health club environment experience in operations, fitness or sales preferred.
Additional Requirements: Ability to provide effective leadership/management of multiple departments. Thorough knowledge of fitness industry and all multiple club operations. Highly developed team-building skills with the ability to work effectively with all layers of management. Proven ability in budget development and financial analysis. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High standards in ethics, service, and image. High degree of self-organization, discipline and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
