Job Description
We are looking for highly motivated and hospitality-driven Aqua Aerobics Instructors to join our team at the Ashburn Village Sports Pavilion.
Pay: $25 - $30.00 per hour

The Aqua Aerobics Instructor builds the program activities and provides group exercise instruction to members of all fitness levels in accordance with safe exercise guidelines.
- Be responsible for planning and leading exercise sessions that are fun, engaging and safe in one or more assigned fitness areas.
- Set up and monitor equipment, ensuring it's returned in serviceable condition.
- Distribute handouts or class evaluations when necessary and address participant inquiries after each session, assisting in post-session follow-up and communication as needed.
- Uphold safety protocols and injury prevention guidelines for all participants.
- Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the Center.
- Keeps accurate class attendance records and plans new classes each quarterly session.
- Follows center policies and procedures; respond to emergency situations.
- Attend staff meetings and training as needed.
- Assess each class to determine individual ability to follow your instructions. Adjust the workout to the various skill levels of class participants. Offer exercise options frequently. Change music and movements frequently. Seek to make each class that will keep members coming back for more.
Qualifications:
- Aquatic Exercise Certification required
- Community C.P.R. certification
- Standard First Aid certification
- Positive and enthusiastic attitude towards job and facility
- Must be able to trouble shoot and anticipate problems
- Consistently exhibit team spirit promoting a productive environment
- Maintain a character of professionalism and confidence, with a tactful ability to communicate with participants
- Demonstrate the ability to cooperate and work with others
- Demonstrate consistent integrity, dependability, responsibility and be able to meet deadlines
- Possess effective verbal/written communication and expression
- Adaptable and flexible under stressful and/or unusual situations

- This position required the ability to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, walk, and talk
- The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Normal work hours: varied to include nights, weekends, and holidays
