Description: Salon Stylist- Full/Part Time, Walt Disney World This posting includes both Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities. During the application, you may indicate your desired work status preference. Responsible for providing excellent guest service by providing hair, nail, and makeup services.
Provide consultation and application services in the art of makeup application and perform professional cuts, styles, chemical services and therapeutic hair and scalp treatments. Provides manicure and pedicure treatments. You must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid Florida Cosmetology License to be considered for this position.
Responsibilities - Provide consistent professional hair, makeup, and nail services in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices - Properly care for equipment and use proper amounts of products to be cost effective - Possess complete knowledge of all services and products while educating and training guests - Broad understanding of color symmetry/coordination and understand the use and effects of different textures (frost, shimmer, etc.) - Accurately book, change, and cancel salon appointments utilizing a salon booking software application (additional training required) - Maintain clean, sage, and fully stocked and well-organized work area - Answer the phone promptly and use the guests name throughout the phone conversation - Assist with purchases and recommendations - Responsible for cash handling and POS transactions - Perform relaxing rituals and protocols (advanced training required) - Serve beverage offerings and maintain that area - Responsible for product inventory and stocking - Responsible for home care recommendations to each guests - Must have the ability to create an image for the guest's needs/social event using different makeup colors, textures and application techniques. - Must possess a technical understanding of product ingredients to avoid allergic reactions - Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spas policies and procedures - Perform prep work and properly clean and restock room as required - Actively promote salon, treatments, services, sessions and retail as well as programs and promotions - Handle guests questions and concerns professionally and courteously - Provide accurate and immediate responses to all requests by guests ensuring complete guest satisfaction - Regularly attend/participate in, and support ongoing training to continue to be knowledgeable about current salon trends - Must be able to perform hair/makeup services offered by Resort - Must be able to provide updos to bridal parties and bridal makeup - Must keep conversation professional at all times with guest
Requirements: Basic Qualifications - Full-Time positions require full availability for any shift, any day of the week, including nights, weekends, and holidays - Part-Time positions require full availability for any shift, a minimum of three (3) days per week - Must currently hold and maintain state Cosmetologist license (with state of Florida) - Constantly standing while providing services - Constantly lifting up to 10 lbs., occasionally up to 25 lbs. - Frequently bending/twisting at the waist - Occasionally bending/twisting of the head or neck, occasionally kneeling - Constant use of hands, using repetitive wrist motion - Indoor work location - Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent guest service skills - Excellent communication and listening skills - Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality - Previous experience in a spa or hotel environment - Previous experience with ability to handle difficult/sensitive situations with minimal/no supervision - Ability to confidently utilize service recovery methods - Proactive in anticipating guest needs - Knowledgeable about the Walt Disney World Resort and surrounding area
